Our psychodynamic psychotherapy sessions offer weekly one-to-one therapy, with each session lasting 50 minutes. These sessions are currently taking place online. The duration of the therapy can be discussed with the therapist.
These regular sessions provide an opportunity to explore recurring patterns of behaviour, especially in relationships, which may be repeated in the consulting room.
The psychodynamic approach recognises that problems and distress in the present may have originated in early life experiences. Understanding this can provide the first step towards changes in perception, awareness and relationships. Counselling and psychotherapy provide a safe place in which to explore past and present feelings and the connections between past and current relationships.
Long term psychodynamic psychotherapy can be particularly helpful when experiencing deeper seated problems such as:
- relationship difficulties
- stress, anxiety
- low self-esteem
- recurring problems of long duration
Some people embark on a course of psychotherapy in order simply to learn more about themselves and how they operate. Psychotherapy can have many benefits including increased self-awareness, greater confidence, better relationships and a greater ability to manage stress.
Fees are calculated on a sliding scale depending on income within minimum and maximum limits. There is an initial in-depth 90 minute consultation and the fee for this is £120. The fee for the long term psychodynamic psychotherapy sessions is calculated according to income bands with a minimum of £35 and a maximum of £80.
You will be asked to pay for missed or cancelled sessions, except for those cancelled by the therapist.
