Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice

Academic Year October 2018 to September 2019

You are invited to apply for a Supervisor / Tutor post. This is an opportunity to play a significant role in the training of psychodynamic psychotherapists.  For third and fourth year trainees, you will be a psychoanalytically qualified and experienced psychotherapist eligible for registration with BPC. For the supervision of interim year trainees, we also welcome applicants with a qualification in psychodynamic psychotherapy.  You will also have undertaken training in supervision or have appropriate experience of supervisory work over several years including experience of supervising groups.

Supervision / Tutor times:

  • Mondays: 11.15am – 2.00pm, Year3/4
  • Mondays: 1.00pm – 3.45pm, Year3/4
  • Tuesdays: 11.15am – 2.00pm, Year1/2
  • Tuesdays: 1.00pm – 3.45pm, Year1/2
  • Thursdays: 2.30pm – 5.30pm, Year1/2
  • Fridays: 2.30pm – 5.30pm, Year3/4

Applicants should normally have a qualification in psychoanalytic or psychodynamic psychotherapy (unless the module is based on a different modality). All seminar leaders must be registered with either BPC, UKCP or BACP.  All appointees must normally have completed a training eligible for BPC registration. They should also have a teaching/training qualification or provide evidence of considerable experience of teaching.

Applicants are encouraged to apply for more than one post if possible. Please request the individual module outline prior to application.  Seminars may be 10, 20 or 30 weeks

  •      Clinical Concepts, 3 terms – 30 sessions, Term 1, 2 and 3, Tuesdays, 11.15am – 12.45pm
  •      Practice and Techniques, 3 terms – 30 sessions, Term 1, 2 and 3, Tuesdays, 9.15am – 10.45am
  •      Research Module, 10 sessions in total. Five sessions in Term 2, Fridays, 5.30pm- 6.50pm, January 2019 – February 2019. Five sessions in Term 3 Mondays, 2.00pm – 3.30pm, April 2019 –       May 2019.  Application deadline Monday 17th September 2018

Honorary Clinical Practitioners (long term, time limited or assessment), 12 – 18 month work placement, 3 – 5 hours per week

Volunteering at WPF Therapy

Library Volunteer

WPF Therapy has a bespoke in-house library and we are seeking volunteers to help run this library. Successful applicants will have good communication skills, a suitable level of technological ability, familiarity with using computers and Office, email and the internet, plus a willingness to familiarise themselves with the current library system. Some experience of working in a library, information centre or resource role is useful but not essential. For more information please contact
