Work Location:

Deputy Director of Studies

Salary:   £50,000 to £55,000 per annum (pro rata)

Hours:    28 hours per week (4 days per week)

Work Pattern:  Combination of office and home working

We are now looking for a skilled Deputy Director of Studies who will support all aspects of training and contribute to the wider leadership and strategic aims of the organisation.

The successful candidate will have joint accountability for the management and performance of the training programmes.   They will coordinate the activities of those undertaking the roles of Programme Managers, Seminar Leaders, Tutors and Group Conductors, ensuring high performance and positive outcomes. They will be required to deputise for the Director of Studies when necessary.

Seminar Leader (Co-Leading) – Foundation Certificate in Counselling Skills (Mode 1)

October 2021 – July 2022 – Wednesday PM

An opportunity to teach on a popular and highly-rated counselling skills course

The WPF Foundation Certificate in Counselling Skills provides a grounding in basic skills of listening and responding and in counselling ethics. The course is designed both as a foundation for further training and also as a stand-alone training. We are currently recruiting for a Seminar Leader to co-lead seminars with another co-leader.

This course is online for Term One and in our London Bridge Office (23 Magdalen Street, London, SE1 2EN) for Term Two and Three. 

Applicants must be psycho­analytic psycho­therapists, group-analytic psychotherapists or psycho­dynamic psycho­therapists with teaching qualifications or significant teaching experience to lead the seminars.  You must be BACP accredited or registered with UKCP or BPC.  You will need to be able to demonstrate the application of principles of adult learning in groups.

Seminar Times:  Wednesdays 6.15pm – 7.45pm

Contact Hours:  1.5 hours per week over 30 weeks

Salary: £34,103 pro rata – Full Time Equivalent

Actual Salary: £1,975 All inclusive.  No holidays can be taken during term time.

Supervisor – Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

WPF Therapy is in an exciting phase of change and this is an opportunity to work with our trainees on the psychodynamic psychotherapy programme.

You are invited to apply for a Supervisor post. This is an opportunity to play a significant role in the training of psychodynamic psychotherapists. You will be a psychoanalytically or psychodynamically qualified and experienced psychotherapist eligible for registration with BPC.   You will also have undertaken training in supervision or have appropriate experience of supervisory work over several years including experience of supervising groups.

Salary:         £34,103 full time equivalent per annum

Actual pro rata salary: £3,410 per annum

Hours:           3.5 hours per week from 1st October 2021

Monday 11:15 to 12:45 or 2:15 to 3:45 or

Friday 3:30 to 5:00

Location:      1st October 2021 moving into WPF offices at London Bridge subject to Covid restrictions at that time.

Seminar Leader – Certificate in Supervision  –January 2022 – July 2022 (Thursdays).  ONLINE

The Supervision course is designed to explore the theory and practice of supervision from a psychodynamic and psychoanalytic perspective. It is offered to experienced psychodynamic counsellors/psychotherapists, or psychoanalytic psychotherapist and integrative counsellors and psychotherapist with a substantial psychodynamic background who wish to train as supervisors.  This course is delivered fully online via Microsoft Teams (for supervision) and Zoom for seminars.  This role is for a seminar leader to run the seminars and work with the Programme Manager on the curriculum.  Most seminars will be taught with a colleague, but there may be some sessions which you will lead alone.

The course consists of 20 weeks of theory (seminars).  There is a team meeting which you will be invited to attend regularly.

The appointment will be subject to course numbers being sufficient to run the course.

The applicant must be a psychodynamically qualified and experienced counsellor or psychoanalytic psychotherapist who has a qualification in psychodynamic/psychoanalytic supervision and with appropriate experience of teaching.  The appointee must hold a current professional registration with BPC, UKCP (CPJA) or BACP.

Work Hours:   Thursdays, 9.30am – 10.50am (Zoom) weekly in term time

Term One: 13th January 2022 – 24th March 2022
Term Two: 28th April 2022 – 7th July 2022

Annual Salary: £34,103 pa – pro-rated (full time equivalent).

Actual Salary:  £1,417 paid over 6 months (inclusive of annual leave)

Academic Standards Manager (Training Directorate)

WPF Therapy offers training in psychotherapy from introductory courses to full qualification.  Each year there are approximately 200 students and trainees on training courses.

The appointee will lead a small team and be accountable for:

  • The academic standards on all WPF training programmes
  • Overall management of the trainee contract with the organisation through the administration team
  • The management of data on trainees and courses which contribute to the organisation’s capacity effectively to manage its activities
  • Student/Trainee support for programmes including managing learning resources and implementation and management of innovative strategies to develop the learning environment.

This role has line management responsibility for the Training Administration Manager (who manages the administration team) and the Learning Resources Centre staff, including academic tutors.

This role reports to the Director of Studies.

Applicants must have experience of quality and academic standards in a higher education environment.

Work Hours:  21 hours across 3 days (to include Mondays and Thursdays)

Salary: £46,865 per annum full time equivalent.  Pro rata actual salary: £28,119 per annum

The role is based at London Bridge with opportunity for some remote working.

Administrative Officer (Training)

1 Full Time Position and 1 Part Time Position

An opportunity to support staff and trainees on a popular and highly-rated psychotherapy training

We are looking for 2 dynamic and enthusiastic administrative officers to work with us remotely and from our offices at London Bridge.

The Administrative Officer provides broad based administrative support encompassing administrative processes within the whole organisation. The role includes working with validating and accrediting bodies, relating to students and academic staff and clients, assisting with programme recruitment and assessment, including enrolment and finance. The Administrative Officer will be expected to work collaboratively with the Training and Clinic Managers, and with the other team members.

Salary:         Full Time Equivalent £26,500.00 per annum

Pro rata for the part time position.

Part Time Post:

Part time hours to be spread across 5 days – start and finish times to be agreed. (Total hours to be confirmed- Minimum 21 hours per week).

Full time Post:

35 hours per week to be spread across 5 days – start and finish times to be agreed.

Some flexibility around the start and finish times will be required to cover changing business requirements.

(Including working on a Saturday rota)

Up to six Sundays a year are also required to be covered.

Location: The roles are a Combination of office and home working, based at our London Bridge Office.
