Experiential Group Conductors – Closing date 29th June 2018

We are looking for new experiential group conductors to join our training team.  Applicants must be experienced, group-analytic psychotherapists registered with UKCP.  This post is to work with trainees who are undertaking our once weekly psychodynamic psychotherapy training.

MA Academic Supervisor (posted May 2018)

You are invited to apply for the role of academic supervisor (MA Programmes) at WPF Therapy.

Applicants must hold a higher degree (Masters or above) and be an experienced psychodynamic/psychoanalytic clinical practitioner. You should also be able to demonstrate an understanding of the requirements of academic as distinct from clinical supervision. (New academic supervisors may be allocated a Consultant Supervisor with whom they can have up to three telephone consultations per year.)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapists  –  Closing date 29th May 2018

WPF Therapy Clinical Service

Applicants should be BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapists / Counselling or Clinical Psychologists (BPS). They should have experience of providing initial consultations/clinical assessments and associated reporting in an institution / clinic setting. The post is for 17.5 hours per week. The Clinic is open to clients from 8am – 9pm Monday to Fridays and from 9am to 4pm on Saturdays. Please note evening and Saturday work may be required as we have a high level of demand for therapy at these times.

Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice

October 2018 – July 2019

Applicants should normally have a qualification in psychoanalytic or psychodynamic psychotherapy (unless the module is based on a different modality). All seminar leaders must be registered with either BPC, UKCP or BACP.  All appointees must normally have completed a training eligible for BPC registration. They should also have a teaching/training qualification or provide evidence of considerable experience of teaching.

Applicants are encouraged to apply for more than one post if possible. Please request the individual module outline prior to application.  Seminars may be 10, 20 or 30 weeks.

  •       Human Development, 10 seminars, October to December, Term 1, Thursdays, 1.00pm-2.30pm (repeated in Term 3 Summer 2019)
  •       Advanced Clinical and Theoretical Issues, 3 terms – 30 sessions, Term 1, 2 and 3 , Mondays, 11.15am 0 12.45pm (NB this is for ONE year in the first instance)

Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice

Academic Year October 2018 to September 2019

You are invited to apply for a Supervisor / Tutor post. This is an opportunity to play a significant role in the training of psychodynamic psychotherapists.  For third and fourth year trainees, you will be a psychoanalytically qualified and experienced psychotherapist eligible for registration with BPC. For the supervision of interim year trainees, we also welcome applicants with a qualification in psychodynamic psychotherapy.  You will also have undertaken training in supervision or have appropriate experience of supervisory work over several years including experience of supervising groups.

Supervision / Tutor times:

  • Mondays: 11.15am – 2.00pm, Year3/4
  • Mondays: 1.00pm – 3.45pm, Year3/4
  • Tuesdays: 11.15am – 2.00pm, Year1/2
  • Tuesdays: 1.00pm – 3.45pm, Year1/2
  • Thursdays: 2.30pm – 5.30pm, Year1/2
  • Fridays: 2.30pm – 5.30pm, Year3/4

Honorary Clinical Practitioners (long term, time limited or assessment), 12 – 18 month work placement, 3 – 5 hours per week
