Meet the staff

Welcome to another in our series of introductions to key teaching staff at WPF Therapy.

We are very pleased to welcome Shirin Biria MSc, MBA, PGDip Psychotherapy (Dist.), to the role of Programme Manager for the WPF Therapy Foundation Certificate in Counselling Skills courses and the Diploma in Counselling Skills (Access) course. Shirin is a BPC and UKCP accredited Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, whose academic and clinical training affiliations are with WPF Therapy, UCL and the University of Manchester.

With a background in management and organisational leadership studies, Shirin is committed to using her years of experience in the management field to enhance running the programmes for the introductory courses. Shirin also works as a Highly Specialist Adult Psychotherapist within NHS Secondary Care and is a member of the Association for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the NHS. She also has a private practice in central London.

When speaking about securing this role Shirin had this to say “I feel privileged to be able to facilitate potentials on the foundation level programmes, which for many of our students is the first step in thinking about human relations from a psychodynamic perspective and all the fascinating new ways of thinking it promotes. I am thrilled to be part of a very well-respected training organisation with such great and long history; an organisation where I originally trained myself.”
